We are committed to nurturing and growing the whole child using an evidence-based approach that aligns early years pedagogies with our current understanding of brain development in early childhood. Our centre also boasts a unique “creative space” which is used for many different and engaging activities.
Private yet easily accessible Emali Early Learning Centre Athol Park sits just off Hanson Road on Gateshead Street and is located in the City of Charles Sturt. The centre has a wonderful welcoming feel that will make your child want to stay. This is our most diverse and multicultural centre and consists of three classrooms suitable to care and educate children aged from 6 weeks through to 5 years of age.
Cradle Room: For children from 6 weeks up to 2 years of age. The Cradle classroom has a bright, sunny feel as you enter. Children have both indoor and outdoor play spaces. The large space is covered, and is available all year long.
Forest Room: For children aged from 2 years through to 3.5 years of age. The Forest room is open and inviting. Our children have constant access to open-ended resources, encouraging creation and exploration. We take pride in our children’s creations, and display them for all to see.
Safari Room: For children aged between 3.5 and up to school age. When walking into the Safari classroom, you are greeted with an open-plan area. This classroom is full of opportunities for childhood engagement. With space for up to 25 children, the Safari classroom is for the big kids. It has a large outdoor play area, complete with a playground and a cubby house. The area is designed to foster imagination and growth. The outdoor area in particular provides an opportunity for learning in a natural environment.
Our Educators: We have 10 passionate and diverse Educators with more than 20 years of experience in the early years sector. Our educators have a lot of love to give, and are passionate about children’s learning and well-being. We also have an Assistant Director in Training and a Quality Mentor.
Our Teachers: We have 2 part-time teachers who work with our families to develop an educational preschool curriculum. One of our teachers is currently completing her Masters in Teaching at Flinders University and has years of experience teaching young children. Both of our teachers are very passionate about aligning children’s play-based learning with literacy, numeracy and science skills.
Our Cook and Cleaner: We have an amazing cook on site who ensures the children are provided with delicious and nutrition meals in accordance with our regulatory requirements. Our cook is also a very experienced educator and a nominated supervisor. We also have a full-time cleaner who ensures the centre is maintained in a hygienic and clean manner, adhering to strict centre hygiene policies keeping your child safe and healthy.
