Book Week 2016

When: 20 - 26 August 2016

National Book Week is one of my favourite times of the year. From when I was young, I used to love it when my school would dedicate the week to discovering new books, and rediscovering the magic of old books.

Each year, The Children’s Book Council of Australia hold book week in hopes to engage the community with literature for young Australians. The theme for this year is ‘Australia! Story Country’.

This is a great opportunity for us to look at the local talent within Australia and explore the amazing children's literature that is available.

Over the past year we have had many opportunities to share books within group environments at our Emali Centres. Some of our favourite books were Grug, One Woolly Wombat and the Very Hungry Caterpillar!

One event that we love doing at our centres is book week dress ups.

This is a day where our children and staff come dressed as their favourite story character!
